(KSL News) -- Drivers heading up Little Cottonwood Canyon this morning discovered a slick and treacherous road, and many of them lost control.
Authorities say black ice coated the road in early morning hours. When the vehicles hit the ice, drivers lost traction and went off the road.
One car went over the edge and fell about 50 to 75 feet. Rescue crews got the driver out and say the elderly man was not hurt.
