SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A small Utah cookie bakery has renamed itself after General Mills Inc. said the baker's name diminished the value of its Doughboy figure.
Tami Cromar, the owner of My Dough Girl, has renamed her Salt Lake City bakery RubySnap.
Cromar has said she renamed her bakery because she doesn't have the money to fight the world's sixth-largest food company.
Golden Valley, Minn.-based General Mills said it objected to Cromar's application to trademark My Dough Girl because it was too similar to existing trademarks for key products, including its iconic Doughboy.
Cromar says she considered about 350 name ideas, but chose RubySnap because it is sassy and expresses her personality.
She also says it doesn't seemed to already be owned by a large corporation.
