(KSL News) -- Several tips, a surveillance tape and fingerprints are credited with helping police put a woman accused of setting fire to a K-Mart store in jail.

West Valley City Police say 31-year-old Jonnie Kroop walked into the store yesterday, dumped kerosene in an aisle, and set it on fire.

Detectives say several tips today lead them to question Kroop.

Capt. T. McLachlan, West Valley City Police Dept: “While they were out there talking to her, our forensics unit called and said they had a match from our suspects prior recorded print, to some evidence that was taken at the scene of the fire, and they matched up.”

Kroop is charged with aggravated arson. Detectives say she has a history of theft. She started the fire as a distraction so she could leave the store with stolen items.
