SANDY -- The new movie "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1" gets great reviews from most Utahns who stayed up overnight to be among the first to see it.

Some people spent their entire day Thursday watching all the previous Harry Potter movies in anticipation of the seventh installment. Those exiting the midnight and 3 a.m. showings at Jordan Commons were very happy with what they saw. Moviegoer Paul Hackley said, "I was not looking forward to a 3:00 a.m. movie. I thought maybe midnight but not 3 a.m. But I'm glad we came."

Ten-year-old Bridger Hackley said, "I thought it was funny, scary, (full of action) and practically a great movie."

Many younger kids noted there are some scary scenes, but overall reaction was positive.

Megaplex Theatres had midnight showings of Harry Potter on 72 movie screens. The only complaint we heard was some people disappointed that they will have to wait until summer to see part two of the movie.
