Mount Pleasant, Utah (AP) -- A new Head Start school is getting a jump start in Sanpete County.

The U-S Department of Agriculture has agreed to lend 300-thousand dollars to Salt Lake City-based Centro de la Familia so it can build the school.

The nonprofit group had previously secured 600-thousand dollars in financing through Zions Bank, but struggled to find the remainder.

The money will help Centro de la Familia clear the last hurdle in its nearly two-year effort to get the new school up and running in Mount Pleasant.

Officials say the new building will have five classrooms, two meeting rooms and three offices. Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year.
