SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah is bowl bound for the third straight season.

The Utes have accepted a bid to play in the Emerald Bowl on December 29th in San Francisco.

Utah qualified for the postseason by beating rival Brigham Young 41-to-34 in overtime on Saturday.

The Utes won't know who they're playing in San Francisco until after this weekend's games.

Athletic director Chris Hill says he got the invitation from the Emerald Bowl yesterday and quickly accepted.

The Utes played in the Fiesta Bowl last season and the Liberty Bowl in 2003.
