SALT LAKE CITY -- A Colorado man was killed Sunday in a crash near the Utah-Colorado border.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a 26-year-old woman and her 36-year-old brother were driving east on Interstate 70 about two miles west of the state line. Just before 2 p.m., one of the tires on their 2008 Ford F-250 blew out, causing the woman to lose control.
The truck rolled into the median.
The male passenger, Dustin Donald Thompson of Windsor, Colo., was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver, who is from Glenwood Springs, Colo., was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction with serious head and neck injuries.
