(KSL News) Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes-- all natural disasters that can kill. High crime rates and terrorist threats also put people in harm's way.

Is there any place in America that's safe?

Yes, and it's in Utah. Blanding, Utah.

According to researchers, at the University of Delaware, every place has some sort of vulnerability. But Blanding is relatively safe. It's on a mesa, so there's no flooding. Locals can't recall an earthquake, a tornado, or any other weather emergency.

The town of 35- hundred residents has very little crime. And terrorists probably don't have it on their radar.

About the only thing to worry about down there is the possibility of a drought.
