SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Salt Lake City police are searching for a man who they say requires daily medications and was reported missing two days ago at the Utah State Fair.

Police say 45-year-old Russell Holmes, of Utah County, went to the fair Wednesday with a group from a state-run residential facility when he walked off around 1 p.m.

Police said in a release Thursday that Holmes faces risks of severe illness and even death without the medications for an unspecified condition.

He is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall with brown hair, brown eyes, a mustache and partial beard. He was last seen wearing a black knit shirt with dark green, baggy pants.

Officials have told the Deseret News that Holmes is not familiar with the Salt Lake area.
