SALT LAKE CITY -- They spin, they twist, they catch major air -- and they do it all on a pogo stick.

Some of the best pogo-stickers in the world ascended on the Gateway Saturday afternoon for "Pogopalooza," the world championship for Extreme Pogo.

One young fan says he understands why these athletes do what they do.

"I figured out lots of ways to pogo stick that aren't just boring, jumping around," said pogo athlete Nic LeSieur. "Pogo-sticking with no hands!"

The winner of Saturday's competition was Fred Grzybowksi, the world-record holder for most back flips on a pogo stick.
