COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS -- A group of concerned citizens protested a possible policy change in Cottonwood Heights Saturday that would allow developers to build taller buildings.
Walking down the road and standing on the sidewalk, the citizens' group waved signs at cars, asking drivers to "honk" if they loved Cottonwood Heights the way it is.
It's the last chance for Cottonwood Heights citizens to let the planning commission know that we don't want to violate our general plan and we don't want to have 12-story or taller buildings in our city.

The group wants residents to know about an upcoming city council meeting that could give developers approval to construct buildings that are six stories or taller near the mountains.
"It's the last chance for Cottonwood Heights citizens to let the planning commission know that we don't want to violate our general plan and we don't want to have 12-story or taller buildings in our city," said Roger Kehr with the Cottonwood Heights Voters Group.
The group says the city should not allow tall buildings for three reasons: the city's plan discourages them, the citizens don't want them and no other cities like Cottonwood Heights have them.
The city council will discuss the issue on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
