KEARNS -- A Kearns boy was injured when he was hit by a car in front of his home.
Unified police say his mother was watching the 6-year-old autistic boy as he played in the front yard of their home near 5000 West and 5400 South in Kearns. Around 6 p.m. he darted out into the road where he was hit by a car.
Police say the boy remained conscious and somewhat alert, but crews flew him to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
He's expected to fully recover.
