BRIGHAM CITY -- A Box Elder County man already facing charges of domestic abuse now is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated murder and criminal solicitation.
According to the Standard-Examiner, prosecutors say Chris Burden, 20, tried to pay an acquaintance to kill one of the witnesses in the domestic violence case to prevent him from testifying in court. The acquaintance contacted police instead.
Burden is now being held on $80,000 bond in the Box Elder County Jail. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 25.
His wife, who is listed as the victim in the domestic violence complaint, has filed for divorce.
