WEST VALLEY CITY -- An 11-year-old boy nearly drowned Thursday on a school field trip in West Valley.
The boy was swimming at the Redwood Recreation Center when a lifeguard spotted him at the bottom of the pool. The lifeguard dove in and pulled him out, then resuscitated him on the side of the pool.
The boy was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in stable condition. He is a student at Redwood Elementary School.
