(KSL News) A former state correctional officer will be sentenced today for assaulting a woman he met on a dating website.
Last month Sean Register pleaded guilty, admitting he contacted the 19-year-old woman through the internet. The two chatted online for several weeks before agreeing to meet at a K-Mart parking lot in Orem. That is when Register assaulted the woman.
Register, however, may not spend anytime behind bars. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors will recommend no time in prison.
