Photo courtesy The Herald Journal. LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- A trio of brothers have opened an arthouse theater in Logan, hoping to spur interest in a city arts district.
Jonathan, James and Joseph Ribera have remodeled the former Logan Art Cinema, which closed in 2009.
The Riberas previewed the renovated venue on Sunday, drawing a crowd of about 70 for a showing of the "Lost" television series finale.
Plans for what's now the Logan Arthouse and Cinema include live music and theater, comedy and independent films. The theater will open for regular business in June.
The original Logan Arthouse and Cinema was opened in 1976 by H.C. Heninger. His daughter, DeAnn Johnson, says the first movie shown in the converted pawnshop was a black and white picture about former Mormon church President Brigham Young.
