CLINTON, Utah -- Police shot and killed two dogs in Clinton Thursday afternoon.

Officers arrived at a house near 700 West and 2300 North to serve a search warrant on the home and a resident inside. The warrant is part of the investigation into a robbery at a Roy dry cleaning business two weeks ago.

As two officers approached the house, two pit bulls came at them from inside the home.

"Two different dogs each went after, toward a different officer," said Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham. "Each officer independently took care of that threat that was coming toward them."

A dog bit one of the officers, but the wound isn't serious.

Officers arrested a man at the home. He is accused of robbing Hoffman Cleaners April 19. Investigators say he had a handgun, wore a mask and demanded and received cash.
