SALT LAKE CITY -- A University of Utah student beat out nearly 3,500 college students for a 2010 Truman Scholarship.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright announced Cody Rogers as one of the select few to receive the honor Wednesday.

KSL first introduced you to Rogers last year when he won an essay competition that sent him straight to the presidential inauguration.

His latest achievement rewards his unique proposal to establish a system whereby voter turnout determines the order of states in the nominating process of the president.

As a Truman Scholar, Rogers will receive $30,000 for his future graduate work. He is currently majoring in political science and hopes to earn a Master of Public Administration and a Juris Doctorate.
