SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Salt Lake County Republican Party Chairman James Evans' offer to resign was rejected.
Evans offered to resign Saturday, citing losing control of the County Council to Democrats. But his offer was declined and Evans sill retain his position until April.
Officials say it's common for a chairman to offer to resign after a tumultuous year, but delegates say the work Evans did before the election and don't blame him for the results.
