SALT LAKE CITY — KSL.com is holding its first-ever photo contest, and we’d love to have you participate.

Whether you are a professional photographer or love playing around with filters on your smartphone, we’d love to see what photos you captured of Utah’s landscapes in 2017. The rules for the contest are simple:

  • You must be a Utah resident
  • You must be the owner of the photo
  • You can only submit one photo
  • The photo must be of a Utah landscape (nature or urban are both acceptable, but no people or pets)
  • The photo has to have been taken during 2017
  • Once you submit a photo, it will be available for use on KSL.com and Utah.com (but you will receive photo credit)
The photo contest will initially be judged by KSL.com editors who will pick their 15 favorite photos. Those photos will then be judged by KSL.com readers who will vote for the three best photos.

Utah.com is sponsoring the contest and will provide the prizes for the top three photos with the most votes. The prizes can be claimed at the KSL Broadcast House at 55 N. 300 West in Salt Lake City.

  • First place will receive a National Parks Annual Pass (value $80) and Utah.com trucker hat.
  • Second place will receive a Utah.com branded HydraPak Backpack and Utah.com trucker hat.
  • Third place will receive a $50 REI or Backcountry.com gift card and Utah.com trucker hat.
The voting will be open until midnight on the day the article is posted. The top three winners will be contacted by email so they can come claim their prize.

Photo submissions should be emailed to Faith Heaton Jolley at fjolley@ksl.com. Contestants have until noon on Tuesday, Jan. 9 to submit a photo for the contest.
