ROOSEVELT — A Roosevelt man was sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in prison after deputies found a cache of stolen goods and crystal methamphetamine in the man’s home in July, according to a statement posted to Facebook by the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office.

Travis Kirk Cook, 35, was sentenced Nov. 6 to three concurrent sentences for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, theft by receiving stolen property and burglary.

In July, deputies found stolen goods Cook and his wife were selling on Facebook and Ebay, including old beer steins, silverware, “Depression-era glass,” ornate salt and pepper shakers, saddles and a trunk of World War II memorabilia, according to Duchesne County Sheriff’s Sgt. Flint Williams.

They also recovered a “baseball size” quantity of meth near Cook after he attempted to flee from the home.

"We didn't take anything from the house that we couldn't prove was stolen," Williams said. "During an interview Travis said he made four to eight grand a month selling stuff online."

Cook accepted a plea deal in September in exchange for the dismissal of all charges in seven other cases against him, including charges related to the stolen memorabilia. The charges would not have added more prison time to Cook’s sentence.

Cook agreed to pay full restitution to his victims and was offered a plea agreement, partially so he could quickly return property to its owner instead of the court holding it as evidence, according to the sheriff's office.

Cook still has pending charges in Uintah County and Idaho, according to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office.

Cook’s wife, Danielle Shalae Jensen Cook, 29, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft by receiving stolen property, according to court records.
