HERRIMAN — An 8-year-old girl nearly drowned at Blackridge Reservoir Saturday.
Police say her brother-in-law likely saved her life.
The girl was with swimming in the reservoir with her older sister and her sister's husband when the husband spotted her 30 feet from the shore, lying face down in the water, police said.
Her brother-in-law raced out to get her. She was unconscious and not breathing.
When he pulled the girl to shore, two Unified police officers performed CPR for about a minute and a half and were able to revive her.
The girl was transported to Riverton Hospital. Police said they do not believe she sustained any serious or life-threatening injuries.
