EPHRAIM — A Utah man set out on a 250-mile run Saturday to help raise money for hearing-impaired children.
Justin Osmond began his long-distance running campaign on behalf of Run4Hearing. This run will take Osmond from his hometown of Ephraim to St. George.
Over the next week, Osmond will run on average 35 miles a day. He has lined up donors to contribute for every mile he runs, and all of the money will go toward buying hearing aids for hearing-impaired children in southern Utah.
Osmond has been training for months to get ready for his week of running.
"It's pretty hot today, but I am doing great," said Osmond. "I have done about a half a marathon so far, about 13 miles. I still have 237 to go. Day one. It feels great!"
Osmond was resting Saturday night in Sevier County and will continue in the morning. If all goes according to plan, he will arrive in St. George after running his 250 miles next Saturday morning.
