SALT LAKE CITY — Gun rights in the state of Utah is a highly talked about subject, particularly at the start of each legislative session.
The Utah House of Representatives recently approved a bill allowing individuals over the age of 21 to carry an unloaded, concealed gun without a permit. The bill, which has made its way to the Senate, has cleared the Senate committee on a 4-1 vote and is expected to reach the full Senate for consideration.
Utah Gov. Gary Herbert told reporters Tuesday that he would veto the bill if it were to clear the Senate. Herbert said he thinks Utah gun laws are appropriate as they are and that no change needs to be made at this time.
