NOT HAWKINS — Get ready to enter the upside-down once more.

Netflix announced Monday its ultra-popular retro science-fiction show “Stranger Things” will be back for a fourth season.

That’s about all the announcement video, tweeted from the streaming service’s account Monday morning, revealed. The video doesn’t include a release date for the fourth season or any plot details.

All that accompanied the announcement is an ominous tagline: “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” That’s a reference to the show’s idyllic Indiana setting. Apparently the fourth season will take “Stranger Things” fans to even stranger, more upside-down places.

The video also shows the series logo slowly morphing into what seems like biological, monster material.

The series, featuring a young cast that includes Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown, has always been one of Netflix’s most popular properties.

The company is famously tight-lipped about how many people view its programming. But Netflix tweeted this summer that over 40 million accounts watched the third season of “Stranger Things” in the four days after it debuted on July 4 this year.

Some have called those numbers into question, but there’s no doubt the show is one of Netflix’s most valuable programs.

Is Netflix doing the right thing by cashing in for a fourth season, or would “Stranger Things” have been better left at three seasons? Let us know what you think in the comments.
