CAR CHASE 101 — A car chase in a movie is often one of the most exciting scenes in the film, but in real life they aren't always so harrowing.
You know what? That's a good thing. Car chases are dangerous, so the fewer we have, the better. However, there was a car chase in McCloud, Oklahoma, that was pretty cinematic. In fact, it's so incredible that if it happened in a movie, you'd roll your eyes and look at the person to your right and say, "That's so unrealistic. That would never happen in real life."
According to News Channel 8 in Oklahoma, police were trying to stop this truck in the city of McCloud. They didn’t know where the chase began, but a chopper was on the scene and authorities were in pursuit.
At one point, a Highway Patrol vehicle attempted a PIT maneuver to stop the truck. The maneuver seemed to work to perfection ... at least, until this truck decided to ignore the laws of physics and teach its own class in force, gravity and inertia.
The truck starts to skid and then hits the highway barrier. The truck flips and slides across the barrier for a bit, but then somehow flips back over onto its wheels and just keeps on going.
The whole scene is incredible to watch, and I can only imagine how annoyed the officers in the patrol car are. My guess is one minute they were high-fiving for a textbook PIT maneuver, and then the next moment they sat there dumbfounded as they watched the chase continue.
Imagine it:
Officer: “We got them. They are upside down into the barrier.”
HQ: “Great work, officers. Do you need back up?”
Officer: ...
HQ: “Officers?”
Officer: “Never mind. Currently in pursuit.”
According to News Channel 8, the suspects were eventually stopped and arrested. It just goes to show witchcraft may win the battle, but justice will win the war.
