MCCALL, Idaho — Two men were arrested in Utah after an ATM theft and shots were fired at officers in Idaho, police said.

Nathan Paul Davenport, 34, and Matthew Taber Annable, 39, are accused of breaking into an ATM and stealing cash, according to McCall police. A witness reported seeing a masked man force entry into an outdoor ATM at Idaho First Bank in McCall. The witness also alerted police of the vehicle description — a green truck — and direction it headed after stealing from the ATM, police said.

Officers located and pursued the vehicle in a residential area. McCall police said the men in the truck stopped two times, exiting the vehicle and shooting at officers. At the southern end of McCall, officers lost track of the men and the truck after bullets disabled the police cars. No injuries to officers or bystanders occurred.

Police and departments from surrounding areas continued to search until about 1 a.m. Saturday. After the search had ended, a citizen reported the green truck had been abandoned at a neighbor’s home. Early Saturday, police searched the vehicle, finding evidence connecting the men to the truck.

Sunday, FBI agents in Utah arrested Davenport and Annable on charges of theft and aiding and abetting in connection with the robbery and shooting. Charges have not been formally filed in Idaho. Davenport and Annable remain in custody.
