SALT LAKE CITY — The Coal Hollow Fire, burning in southeast Utah County in Spanish Fork Canyon, grew to 19,360 acres Saturday and was 4 percent contained, Utah fire officials report.

A new fire broke out south of Saratoga Springs Saturday morning and had burned about 1,400 acres by the evening.

There were at least nine active wildfires burning throughout Utah as of Saturday, according to Utah Fire Info. The Wasatch Front continues to experience bad air quality as smoke from the fires affects the area.

While fires burned in northern and central Utah, residents in parts of southern Utah were hit with hail, 55 mph winds and flash flooding Saturday.
