WASHINGTON CITY — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after crashing into an SUV on a Utah highway Sunday, Utah Highway Patrol said.
At around 1:30 p.m., a motorcyclist driving a Harley Davidson was heading north on I-15 in congested “stop-and-go” traffic when an SUV traveling in front of the motorcycle stopped near Washington City. The motorcyclist failed to stop, according to a release from the UHP, and hit the rear of the SUV.
The motorcyclist — who officials only identified as a male — was thrown off the bike upon impact. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head trauma, UHP said in the release.
The motorcyclist was flown to Dixie Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
UHP said the occupants in the SUV were not injured in the crash.
