OGDEN — An Ogden man is dead after the car he was driving went off a road and crashed into a house Monday afternoon, police said.

Police responded to a report of a car crashing into a house near 500 South and Monroe Boulevard just before 1:15 p.m., according to Ogden Police Lt. Kevin Cottrell.

Cottrell said the man, identified as Austin Lujan, 21, was driving a car traveling north on Monroe Boulevard when the vehicle crossed a median, went off the road and crashed into the home. Lujan died at the scene.

Cottrell said speed factored in the crash. He said nobody else was inside the car and no one was inside the house at the time of the crash.

There was no damage estimate to the house as of Monday afternoon, Cottrell added. The crash remains under investigation.
