SALT LAKE CITY — KSL Newsradio host Jay McFarland released a new podcast Monday that dives into the world of science-fiction.

The series, entitled “Hosts of Eden” is an 11-episode oratory story of a man who suffers from multiple personality disorder. One of these personalities is a marine who served two tours in Iraq and another personality is a girl with a mysterious past.

“One day a new personality emerges, and he claims to be the president of the United States,” McFarland said.

The doctor treating the man starts to question what is going on as the man starts to know things he shouldn’t. Then she finds there’s someone else who also knows about the situation who doesn’t want the doctor to find the truth.

McFarland said the idea came about four years ago as a book idea, but decided that as an oral storyteller, it would be better off told in a podcast format. He added that the story is full of twists and turns.

“It goes somewhere where you’d never imagine it goes,” he said, of the storyline.

The series begins with two episodes released Monday, and two episodes will be released each week until the final episode. Each episode is about 15 to 20 minutes long. The free podcast can be found on the KSL Newsradio mobile app, iTunes and Google Music.

McFarland is the host of “The JayMac News Show” that runs weekday afternoons.
