SALT LAKE CITY — Rep. Mia Love is buying $1 million in television advertising for her second battle with Democrat Doug Owens, twice as much as she spent in 2014.
Love's campaign strategist Dave Hansen said the spots would run on Utah's four major networks and on cable television from Sept. 6 through Election Day.
Hansen said the two main reasons for the big buy is that Love, R-Utah, has more money this year and the election is different this time around because Salt Lake County has gone to mail-in ballots.
"You want to have your ads out there when people are starting to get their ballots," he said. Filming for the ads will begin soon, he said.
Owens has not announced a TV ad buy. Love narrowly beat Owens two years ago in the 4th Congressional District.
