82-year-old Grantsville woman harvests 6x6 bull elk

While most grandmothers bake fresh bread or quilt, one Grantsville woman successfully hunted her first bull elk at the age of 82.

Margaret Elaine Lunt said she developed a love of hunting at a young age when she would tag along with her father on his deer hunts. She said she loved spending time with her family and being outdoors during the fall when Utah is especially scenic.

LDS woman creates campaign to help early returned missionaries

Ashley Sargeant knows firsthand how difficult it can be to return home early from an LDS mission.

Sargeant returned home nine months early from her mission to Brazil in February 2013, unaware that what she'd been struggling with was bipolar type 2 disorder.

WVC Police: Woman, man found dead in possible murder-suicide

Authorities investigated a residence where two people were found dead Sunday near 2500 West 3000 South according to Roxanne Vainuku, a spokesperson for West Valley police.

Police indicated Sunday evening that the incident appears to be a murder-suicide, but were cautious to make conclusions pending an autopsy.

Police: 10-year-old boy killed in Cache County hunting accident

A 10-year-old boy was shot and killed in a hunting accident in Cache County Saturday, police said.

Just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Cache County Communications Center received a call that a young man had been accidentally shot in an area approximately one mile southeast of Red Spur, in the far southeast corner of the forest service area of Cache County, according to Cache County Sheriff's Office. A Life Flight helicopter was called along with Cache County Sheriff's office, Cache County Search and Rescue and Logan City Paramedics, police said.

Utah's defense saves the day to keep undefeated streak alive

Utah moves up to No. 4 in latest AP Poll

Coming off its down-to-the-wire victory over then-undefeated Cal, Utah moved up in the rankings again.

Utah moved up to No. 4 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and stayed the same at No. 7 in the Amway USA Today Coaches Poll. Utah was five votes away from taking the No. 3 spot. The No. 4 ranking is the highest regular-season ranking for Utah in school history. The Utes were previously ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll.
