SALT LAKE CITY — Police here were investigating a pair of Halloween night incidents in which one of the alleged robbers was dressed as a gorilla.
About 10 p.m., police were called to 1650 S. Redwood Road on a report of a 48-year-old man being attacked by someone with a chainsaw, according to a Salt Lake police report. The victim suffered an injury to his forearm.
The woman who reported the incident said the man with the chainsaw was wearing a multi-colored mask. The victim received treatment at a local hospital. Police said they were still attempting to get information from him.
About four minutes after that incident, a separate incident was reported at 555 S. Redwood Road where two men reported being robbed by a gorilla.
The two men were approached by four other men, one of them wearing a gorilla costume, according to Salt Lake police. An iPod, necklace and wallet were stolen and both victims assaulted, according to police.
