Rent-A-Center Inc., up $2.65 to $14.68
The chain, which leases household goods on a rent-to-own basis, accepted an offer of $15 a share from Vintage Capital Management.
JD.com Inc., up 17 cents to $43.76
Google said it will invest $550 million in the Chinese e-commerce company.
PTC Therapeutics Inc., up $10.33 to $47.88
The drug developer reported positive results for a drug intended to treat spinal muscular atrophy.
Perry Ellis International Inc., down 75 cents to $27.22
The clothing company said founder George Feldenkreis is taking it private in a deal worth $27.50 a share.
Apache Corp., up $1.23 to $42.84
Energy companies rose with oil and gas prices.
Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc., down $1.54 to $111.84
Health care companies fared worse than the broader market on Monday.
LaZBoy Inc., up 35 cents to $33.15
Smaller, more U.S.-focused companies fared better than those with large international operations.
Clorox Co., down $1.92 to $126.93
Makers of household goods and packaged foods took sharp losses Monday.
