SANDY — A Sandy man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he met at a TRAX station.

Philemon Deschanel Loukonti, 29, is charged in 3rd District Court with forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony, and providing alcohol to a minor, a class A misdemeanor.

On Dec. 11, a 15-year-old girl was at a TRAX platform waiting for a train when she met Loukonti. The girl ended up going with Loukonti to his house where he provided her with alcohol and she became intoxicated, according to charging documents.

The girl became concerned about what was happening and sent a text message to her friends “indicating that she was afraid she was going to be sexually assaulted,” the charges state.

Police traced the girl’s phone to Loukonti’s residence. When they knocked on the door, the girl answered and appeared to be drunk, police say. The girl told officers that Loukonti forced her to perform a sex act on him, but Loukonti said the girl forced herself on him and that “nothing happened after this incident due to law enforcement knocking on the door,” according to the charges.

A $250,000 warrant was issued Monday for Loukonti’s arrest.
