SALT LAKE COUNTY — Two cars collided near 500 North I-15 when a driver drove the wrong way on the freeway early Sunday morning.
At bout 2:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a black passenger car driving north in southbound lanes on I-15 near Rose Park at a high rate of speed. The black 2003 Hyundai Elantra crashed head-on with a southbound silver SUV, according to police.
Two people were in the SUV at the time of the incident. Both of them sustained minor injuries.
Police identified the driver of the Hyundai Elantra as Ashley Pacheco, a 21-year-old female from Pleasant Grove. Pacheco sustained injuries to her legs, but the extent of her injuries is unknown.
Pacheco was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, police said.
