SUNSET — A man was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a FrontRunner train.

The Davis County Police Department reported the accident around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. The incident occurred at 2300 N. 475 West in Sunset.

Investigators said that the man was walking down the middle of the track when he was hit.

Police say the incident was likely a suicide as the man passed multiple warning signs and went around a fence before reaching the tracks. Those who were with the man indicated to police that he was suicidal.

UTA has set up a bus service for passengers who need transportation between the Clearfield and Roy FrontRunner stations while police respond on the scene. The service will continue until 10 p.m.
