SALT LAKE CITY — Just one day after Martin MacNeill was convicted of the murder of his wife Michele, his daughter spoke out.
"I thought I knew him," said Alexis Somers. "Now we've come to understand who he really is. He's a calculated, cold murderer."
Somers and her family members have been waiting for justice for five years. Somers suspected her father had killed her mother, and she pushed authorities to prosecute MacNeill in 2007.
"I would just ask him, maybe, 'Why?' Why would he take her away from us? But I know why. He didn't care," Somers said. "He had a plan. He didn't care about my mom."
MacNeill will be sentenced January 7.
