PARK CITY — A former member of the Park City High School athletic program has been terminated and charged with a sex count involving a teen.

Robert Rauzi, 33, was charged in the Summit County Justice Court with one count of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- or 17-year old, a class B misdemeanor, according to court documents.

The charge stems from a Jan. 3 incident, according to the charging document. Rauzi pleaded not guilty and a court date was set for June 26.

Rauzi was an athletic trainer and taught health sciences at Park City High School beginning in 2008, according to Tim McConnell, associate superintendent over human resources. Rauzi was suspended when a Jan. 4 complaint led to an internal investigation at the school. He was terminated on Feb. 16, McConnell said.

McConnell declined to comment on whether the teen was a student at the school.
