SALT LAKE CITY — We're on the cusp of the summer-movie season and the releases seem to get better and better each week. "Oz: The Great and Powerful" opened last week and this week we'll get "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone."

While these films will hold us over for the time being it's spring we're all really looking forward to. In May we'll get huge movies like "Iron Man 3," "The Great Gatsby," and "Star Trek Into Darkness."

We got a new trailer for "Star Trek Into Darkness" over the weekend and it gives us a good idea of what we can expect from the much -anticipated sequel: action, action and a bit more action.

The earlier trailers focused more on the villain, Benedict Cumberbatch, and the chaos and mayhem he causes. The film looked a bit darker and more intense than 2009's "Star Trek." This new trailer focuses more on our hero, Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise.

The new trailer is a breath of fresh air considering it's clear the stakes are higher in the sequel, but we still get the humor and fun we fell in love with in the first film. But while you took that breath the wind was knocked out of you with all the action.

It appears this new "Star Trek" entry is going to be packed to the gills with action sequences including volcanoes, flying space suits and submerged space ships. The newest trailer is easily the fastest-paced and action-oriented trailer so far.

While we were excited with the intensity and mystery surrounding the other trailers with a heavy emphasis on Cumberbatch, we're even more excited now that we know Spock's dry humor and Kirk's reckless attitude will still be big parts of the film.

"Star Trek Into Darkness" is set for release on May 17.
