LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Marie Osmond has remarried her first husband in a private ceremony at the LDS temple in Las Vegas.
Osmond said in a statement that the 51-year-old singer and 54-year-old Stephen Craig, a former professional basketball player, wed on Wednesday. She says the day is special because it marks the birthdays of both her late mother and her late son Michael Bryan.
Osmond says it was important for relatives to be with her and her husband on their special day; Bryan committed suicide last year.
Osmond wore the same Ret Turner wedding dress that she wore during her first ceremony with Craig.
"This is something I've always wanted," Osmond said following the 1982 ceremony. "It's just the way I've always wanted it, and I've got just who I've always wanted."
The couple divorced three years later. Osmond remarried, but split from her second husband after 21 years.
The couple says it was their 28-year-old son Stephen who pushed them back together.
Osmond said she didn't plan to wear her first dress again, but the one she'd had specially made for this wedding just didn't feel right.
The groom did not repeat his apparel. In the first wedding he wore a white tux; this time he opted for black.
