FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Methodist University officials say a $1 million gift will support a Judaic studies endowment and the fine arts.
The Fayetteville Observer reported (http://bit.ly/1nsnw35) the gift comes from longtime university supporters Terri Union and Carlos Zukowski .
Their gift will support three projects: a Judaic studies endowment, a lobby and gallery in the Reeves Fine Art Building and endowed professorships in the fine arts.
The endowment will fund guest lecturers, programs on international issues, mission trips, art exhibitions and visits to historic sites such as the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.
The gift is one of several large ones the school has received in the past year, including $2.6 million for a new health sciences building and $1.5 million to renovate the auditorium of the fine arts building.
