STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Tim Arakawa's RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Oklahoma State to a 5-4 victory over St. John's in the first round of the Stillwater Regional on Friday night.
Gage Green had four hits and scored four times, including the winning run, for Oklahoma State (38-18), which is hosting a regional for the second straight year.
Michael Donadio drove in the tying run on a fielder's choice in the top of the ninth for St. John's (39-15), which had its 15-game winning streak snapped.
Oklahoma State loaded the bases with no outs in its half of the inning. After Thomas Hackimer (3-1) struck out Dustin Williams, Arakawa delivered the winning hit.
Trey Cobb (5-1) got the victory after pitching 2 1/3 innings of relief, allowing one run and one hit for Oklahoma State, which never trailed.
