PARK CITY — Some spring skiing shenanigans were in full swing last weekend when Park City resort hosted the 20th annual Pond Skimming competition.
On Saturday March 19, competitors donned silly costumes (including one of a yeti, inflatable Sumo wrestler suits and axe-wielding lumberjack) and met at the pond located at the top of Red Pine Gondola to try and make their way across its 100-foot surface without taking a dip.
Well, that was the goal for some, anyway.
A video put together by Park City resort allows viewers to catch all the spills, thrills and downhill chills by seeing skiers and snowboarders alike take an ice-cold dip during the fun event.
The Pond Skimming Contest was a part of the 2016 Spring Grüv event lineup that will culminate in an annual Easter celebration on Sunday, March 27, in the Park City Base Area and the Canyons Village.
Would you be brave enough to try to make your away across the pond?
