1. Powerful earthquake on Iran-Iraq border kills more than 140
The 7.3-magnitude quake was centered 19 miles (31 kilometers) outside the eastern Iraqi city of Halabja, according to the most recent measurements from the U.S. Geological Survey. It struck at a depth of 23.2 kilometers (14.4 miles), a shallow depth that can have broader damage. Magnitude 7 earthquakes on their own are capable of widespread, heavy damage.
2. Woman arrested after Payson business discovers $45K theft
A woman has been arrested after the Payson business she worked for discovered over $45,000 had been stolen, according to Payson Police Sgt. Noemi Sandoval.
3. Texas town holds 1st Sunday service since church attack
Hundreds of mourners crowded into the tiny town of Sutherland Springs for the first Sunday service since a gunman stormed the First Baptist Church a week earlier, killing more than two dozen people in the worst mass shooting in Texas history.
4. Power restored in Kaysville after Saturday crash damages power lines, closes I-15
After a Saturday morning crash left about half of Kaysville City without power, crews were repairing lines Sunday morning and city officials said power was restored by noon.
5. Provo police searching for man accused of sexually assaulting woman in public restroom
Provo police said Friday they are searching for a man accused of barricading a woman in a public restroom and forcing her to disrobe, according to Provo Police Lt. Brian Taylor.

1. Canada's career night leads BYU to first road win of season, 31-21 at UNLV
Squally Canada more than doubled his career high with 213 yards and a touchdown, and freshman Joe Critchlow threw for 160 yards and a touchdown in his first career start at quarterback to lead BYU in a 31-21 win at UNLV for the Cougars’ first road win of the season Friday night at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
2. Falk throws 3 TDs, No. 19 Washington State beats Utah 33-25
The Washington State Cougars are officially one victory away from being named Pac-12 North champions, and their College Football Playoff hopes remain alive.
Luke Falk threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns and No. 19 Washington State beat Utah 33-25 on Saturday.
3. Jazz center Rudy Gobert out 4 weeks with leg injury
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert will be out for the next month with an injured right leg.
4. Juan Diego secures 3rd-straight state title with 45-20 win over Morgan
Juan Diego Catholic High School secured its third straight football title after defeating Morgan 45-20 in the 3A state championship game on Saturday.
5. Milford wins first 1A championship in 24 years; undefeated South Summit captures 2A title
At long last, Milford High's football team will bring home its second state championship in school history.
Bryson Barnes completed 11-of-19 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for 90 yards on 16 carries to lift the Tigers to a 28-14 win over defending champion Duchesne in the Class 1A state championship Saturday at Southern Utah University.
