SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Some Utah cities say recent Census population estimates are not accurate.
Eagle Mountain says it has grown by about 2,700 people in the past year, but a recent Census report says it only grew by about 440 people.
Eagle Mountain isn't alone in its discrepancy with the U.S. Census Bureau. Utah's population trackers have long contested the bureau's population estimates.
Last year, the Utah County city launched a challenge that boosted its 2006 population from an estimated 12,000 to 17,000. A handful of other Wasatch Front cities also challenged their estimates, as did Cache County as a whole.
Eagle Mountain and other cities are expected to challenge the estimates again this year.
