LA VERKIN, Washington County — A couple riding an ATV crashed into the Springdale chief of police in La Verkin Thursday morning, according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Lars Gardner.
The off-road ATV swerved into the main road on state Route 9 and crashed into the chief of police's pickup truck, which was traveling east, Gardner said. The chief of police was not injured, but his vehicle was towed.
The couple in the ATV was transported to the hospital in serious condition but without life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing, though Gardner says some action will most likely be taken against the couple.
