LOGAN, Utah — Northern Utah's Cache Valley is turning out to be a mecca for young moose this month.
Logan's Herald Journal reports (http://bit.ly/JG1Z82 ) a moose captured Saturday in Wellsville was the third seen in the valley in 11 days.
Division of Wildlife Resources officials say the young bull was captured after running through fields just east of U.S. Highway 89/91.
The two other moose were captured after being spotted in North Logan and near the Logan River Golf Course.
The division captures the animals and then transports them to more suitable habitat.
Wildlife biologists say some years bring more moose to the valley than other years so it's not unheard of to see so many. They say young bulls wandering into urban areas often are seeking refuge from larger males.
