NEW YORK (AP) — The Tony Award-winning musical "Once" is falling slowly off Broadway.

Producers said Wednesday that the musical based on the 2006 film about an unlikely romance between a Czech flower seller and an Irish street musician in Dublin will close Jan. 4.

The musical will have played 1,167 performances and 22 previews.

Like the film, the musical features songs by Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard, including "Falling Slowly." It won eight Tonys, including best new musical, and recouped its $5.5 million investment in less than six months.

Last week, it only pulled in $355,062 over eight shows from a potential of $920,197.
